The short version
PumpTally doesn’t ask for your name, email or any account. The calculators run in your browser, and the numbers you type are not sent to us or stored. We don’t currently use cookies, analytics or advertising.
What the calculators do with your numbers
Distances, fuel economy, prices and the other values you enter are worked out by code running in your own browser. When you choose two cities on the moving truck calculator, your browser downloads a small file of route data from this site. That request doesn’t include anything you typed.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, the servers that deliver PumpTally may record basic technical details for each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. Our hosting provider uses these logs to keep the site running and secure. We don’t use them to identify you or build a profile of you.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We don’t set cookies or run analytics or ad scripts today. If we add analytics or advertising in the future, those services may use cookies or similar technology, and we will update this policy before they go live to explain what is collected and how you can opt out.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to sources such as the U.S. Energy Information Administration and OpenStreetMap. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we’re not responsible for how they handle information.
Children
PumpTally is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California and other U.S. states with privacy laws, you may have the right to know what personal information a business holds about you, to ask for it to be deleted and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don’t sell or share personal information, and apart from the server logs described above we don’t hold any. To make a request or ask a question, email contact@pumptally.com.
Changes to this policy
We’ll post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. Significant changes, such as adding advertising, will be described here before they take effect.
